Patrick Pearson founded Appliances Plus in 1999 on the island of St. John, USVI. Passionate about working with his hands ‘Pat’ as everyone knows him, decided that it was time that he ventured out and do something for his community. After traveling between St. St. John and St Thomas to service household appliances for years, he saw a need.  St Johnians should be able to buy a new appliance on St. John rather than having to travel to St. Thomas. He started with two 40-foot containers as his warehouse, a small office in the lumber yard complex, and his son, Jeffrey, as his right-hand man. Everyone in St John was happy and accepted him and his family. A year later Marilyn his ‘wife’ who worked in the private sector and was a silent partner came on board fully as the business continued to grow.

Jenna ‘his daughter’ actively started helping her parents from an early age of 2. Climbing into Pat’s minivan without shoes on and riding along with him to complete service calls. Her love for working with her dad started her enthusiasm for what she does now, which is selling appliances and ensuring everyone receives top notch customer service. Their entire staff, salespeople, delivery associates and service tech share Pat’s vision and passion to serve.

Appliances Plus became the go to store on St. John. A few years later (2006) Expo by Appliances Plus was born. Currently located in Time Center, St. Thomas, this location makes it easier for locals and visitors to shop.

However, tragedy struck in 2017 when two category 5 storms devastated the two islands and permanently destroyed the St. John store, thus leaving only Expo by Appliances plus to carry on.

Expo by Appliances Plus is well known for their appliance expertise.  They specialize in KitchenAid, Whirlpool, General Electric and U Line appliances.  They know how to pick appliances that look good in your kitchen and are user friendly as well.

Pat continues to provide service on both islands. Which means Expo by Appliances Plus will be around for years to come along with Pat’s mantra “Man made it, so man can fix it”.
